FIRENZE HAS A (BEAUTIFUL) MARKET.
It’s the “Mercato Centrale” [Central Market] of San Lorenzo, an Art Nouveau building of the year 1874, whose iron and glass structure were designed by architect Mengoni to host the market stands. Even today in the ground floor of the building one can live the atmosphere of the “vecchia Firenza” [old Florence] among fruits, vegetables, flowers, oil and many other typical Florentine products. The first storey has been recently refurbished and this project gave birth to a large open space, without sharp divisions, against which a Parisian-gallery like structure stands out. The aim of the restoration was to bring back the centrality of the artisans of the taste. It’s a meeting place perfect for a breakfast, a coffee, an Italian “aperitivo”, a quick launch or a supper, sitting here and there, maybe even reading something in the library. For the most curious, there’s also a interesting Cooking School, branch of the Institute Lorendo de’Medici, historical entity in the neighbourhood for over 40 years.

A more then perfect break in the heart of Florence, very “DDmag style”. How about it?
