The house with two souls
Do you remember Elisabetta from “Details of Home Decor”? A few months ago we have got to know her for DDmag because her blog is for us a constant inspiration for house style. From today, Elizabeth becomes our new contributor that will take us to know a lot of nice things: destinations and design hotel, new furniture, eco-architecture and much more. But let's see what she is up today! The house with two souls!

A 18th century sawmill, remained abandomed for years, has been transformed into a beautiful home that combines rustic charm with contemporary interior design. Nestled in the lush countryside of North Wales, in the small village of Corwen, the building enjoys a scenic location close to a river and is surrounded only by trees. The architectural firm DMD Group of Manchester was in charge of its transformation and was able to make the most of the full potential of the property to obtain a truly amazing final result . Outside has been rigorously maintained the original coating, made with a local gray stone, and to extend the surface, an extension has been designed with large windows to not be too imposing and out of tune with the rest of the house.

Also internal structural elements have been maintained and reinforced as the original dark wooden beams and natural stone that create a pleasant game of contrasts with modern furniture, large windows and a 'floating' staircase that leads to the upper floor. The ground floor houses a spacious and bright living room with adjoining dining room, you will reach the kitchen which has direct access to the outside patio. The upper floor is the sleeping area with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom is a "real luxury", large, bright and with a magnificent bath placed in front of the bed, to spend pleasant moments of relaxation. The many wooden details in every space wants to remember the soul of the original building and provide a great warm feeling.

The work performed by the DMD team has made a very chic house , ideal for living in the green away from the chaos of the city without giving up comfort, design and tradition.

See you soon,
Elizabetta.
